We are almost two years into our Singapore adventure and looking forward to the next few years! During this time, we have visited almost every park and attraction you can think of with our four children under the age of six. Below you will find our favorite Singapore family activities.
Night Safari
Located next to the Singapore Zoo, the Night Safari is the world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals. My kids love riding the 35 minute tram and getting a close look at the animals in their different habitats. I recommend researching ticket discounts for combining this activity with others like the Singapore Zoo or River Safari.
Parks
There are so many fun slides at Admiralty Park! Kids can spend hours playing in the various playgrounds and climbing structures. This is a great activity to help your kids get their wiggles out. East Coast and West Coast are also massive parks that are fun for all ages. The Singapore Botanic Garden is also a great stop. Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden has slides, a splash pad, zip line and more. You must have kids to be admitted and it is free.
Chinatown
Find the world’s cheapest Michelin starred meal – chicken rice! Little India and Arab Quarters are also so fun and unique! So many good food and souvenir options.
KidZania Indoor Theme Park
Located in Sentosa, this is a really awesome kids land. It’s similar to Disneyland but give kids the option to try out different careers. They get to earn money and spend it too and it’s so fun for them. The beach is also fun and you can walk out to the most Southern tip of Continental Asia off Palawan Beach. Sadly, the free pirate splash pad is closed and being turned into something else now. The aquarium is also great if you need an escape from the heat or rain.
Universal Studios
This theme park is really well done, and like all of Singapore, very clean. With seven different zones and 28 rides and attractions, the park will take up most of your day. You can take a cab to Sentosa or ride the gondola there for a more scenic view.
Bum Boat Tour
Take advantage of this great tour at night so you can see Marina Bay Sands and the skyline as well as the Merlion and more.
Gardens by the Bay
We love the amazing splash pad and playground located here. Every night they also do two light shows at the super tree grove.
The Marina Barrage
The Marina Barrage Gardens by the Bay
This is a great place to feel the breeze, watch people fly kites, and get an iconic picture of the downtown skyline.
Marina Bay Sands
See what Singaporeans do best – SHOP! This is one of the fanciest malls around. There are lots of great places to eat, you can ride boats inside, and if you go to Future World at the Art Science Museum, your ticket will get you access to a massive interactive digital screen you can run around on.
MacRitchie Reservoir
Visit here if you’re up for an outdoor adventure. This is a fun hike during which you are likely to see some local wildlife.
Pulau Ubin
You can take a ferry to the island of Pulau Ubin to see what Singapore looked like decades ago – complete with gravel roads and lush forests. Once there, you can rent bikes (tandem and bike seats are available for little ones) and spot wild boars, monkeys and monitor lizards.
Indoor Activities
Singapore can often be hot and humid or experience a good old tropical storm that can ruin your outdoor plans. If you need to escape the bad weather, we love Pirate Land, Waka Waka and Poliwogs. There are also great free kids museums (like National Gallery) – just do a google search near you to find the closest one. The Art Science Museum at Marina Bay Sands is also one of our favorites.
The Jewel and Changi Airport
This is great for the beginning or end of your trip. It has the world’s largest indoor waterfall and really cool attractions on the top floor like a ropes course, mirrored maze and more.
There are so many great activities for kids in Singapore, both indoor and outdoor. You are guaranteed to have a great time when you vacation here! We are loving seeing the country through our kids’ eyes and hope you can take advantage of our list of favorite Singapore family activities.
