A gorgeous winter wonderland awaits your family at Breckenridge Ski Resort! Located near major airports like Denver International Airport, Colorado Springs Airport, and Eagle County Regional Airport, it’s part of the Epic Pass Program and is one of the most popular ski resorts in Colorado. Showcasing 5 peaks, 2,908 skiable acres, 187 trails, four terrain parks, and the tallest chairlift in North America, the well-groomed trails are ideal for both beginner and advanced skiers! For example, the bottom of Peak 8 and Peak 9 are often the most popular spots for beginners. With various runs, specific family trails are usually marked with yellow diagonals in the family zones. Advanced skiers may prefer Peak 7 or Peak 6.

At the Breckenridge Ski and Ride School, there are also several options available for kids ages 3-14 to learn to ski or snowboard.

Additionally, the Freedom SuperChair and Independence SuperChair offer families a chance to experience the wide-open and rolling terrain of Peak 7 in a whole new way. Keep in mind that Breckenridge can become very crowded during ski season, as it’s closer to Denver than Vail or Beaver Creek. It’s also very popular among locals.

Kid-Friendly Activities for Non-Skiers

When you’ve had enough of the slopes, there are plenty of other activities for you to enjoy in Breckenridge. Browse shops, restaurants, and cute cafes in the downtown area. Or, go sledding, tubing, ice skating, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing with kids. Thrill-seeking little ones will love riding the Alpine Slide! There’s also the Mountain Top Children’s Museum. Make a reservation at the Breckenridge Recreation Center for fitness, rock climbing, swimming, and ice skating. Don’t forget to say hi to the Breckenridge Troll!
