Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
Pier 86, W 46th St, New York, NY 10036 (212) 245-0072
Learn about New York’s military history on an actual ship at the Intrepid! This maritime museum has comprehensive exhibits detailing the history of The Cold War, nuclear submarines, airplanes, and anything else you can think of! Aside from the actual history, the experience here is more about hands-on interaction. Kids will love the replica aircraft carriers they can actually climb in, and, of course, the star of the show: The Space Shuttle. You can also visit the crew's quarters and try the 4D simulator, so realistic you’ll feel you’re actually on a plane! Adults will have just as much fun as kids here.
