76/92 Hensman Road, Queenstown 9300, New Zealand
Lake Wakatipu is one of the largest lakes in New Zealand. Dating back hundreds of years, families can still visit its stunning shores for an adrenaline rush! This beautiful natural sight is the center of most of Queenstown’s watersports, including parasailing, jet skiing, and kayaking. Just be warned: the water can get extremely cold! Or, take a more passive approach to explore the area by boarding the TSS Earnslaw, a steamer boat the crosses the lake to arrive at Walter Peak High Country Farm. There’s also a pedestrian and car path where you can see the lake for free and at your own pace. For a panoramic view over the vista, take a gondola ride to the top of the mountain and back.
