Piazza San Pietro, 00120 Vatican City Italy
Although Vatican City is the world’s smallest state, it is one of the most important cultural and religious hubs in the world! As such, it’s a great place to introduce kids to the diverse history of Rome. Home to the Pope, the area houses the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Catacombs, and many other legendary sites which all give patrons an in-depth look at the enduring and complex history of the Catholic religion. Spend the afternoon with some gelato in hand, exploring the cobblestone streets and taking in all the sights and sounds of Italy! But, as the City gets quite crowded and lacks stroller accessibility for many of the attractions, we suggest exploring the Vatican for families with older children.
