Car Seat Laws
According to the Singapore Road Traffic Rules, anyone below the height of 1.35m will be required to be secured with a child restraint appropriate for a person of that height and weight, use a booster seat to supplement the seat belt or an approved adjustable seat belt.
Transportation Services
You can flag down a taxi any time, but in the city center taxis are technically not allowed to stop anywhere except at designated taxi stands. If you want a car for local driving only, it’s worth checking smaller operators, where the rates are often cheaper than the big global rental firms. Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) subway system is the easiest, quickest and most comfortable way to get around Singapore. Find more information on transportation here.

Tipping Customs
Most restaurants in Singapore add a 10% service charge to the bill so a tip is not expected. If you insist on tipping your waiter, it is best to hand the cash directly to the person as some restaurants take the tips that are left on the table. Tipping bellhops at hotels is not mandatory, but acceptable.
