• Axamer Lizum, just 20 minutes west by car from Innsbruck, has over 25 miles of pistes for all skill levels. It’s the largest ski area near Innsbruck and a great family resort. A children’s area is located between the Hoadlbahn lift’s base and the Olympiabahn lift. 

• Muttereralm Ski Resort is another fantastic option for families, reachable via the free ski bus in around 25 minutes. Alongside an on-site ski school, there are also beginner trails, including a children’s and beginners’ area by the Muttereralmbahn gondola with a covered magic carpet lift.

• Rangger Köpfl is a great choice if you’re new to skiing or have young children. Accessible via the free ski bus in around 20 minutes, this small resort features an on-site ski school, night skiing, and tobogganing on certain days. At the mountain station of the gondola lift, there’s also a separate area for children with a practice lift. 

Best Austrian Ski Resorts for Kids between 30 and 50 Minutes from Innsbruck

This is because the snow is dependable at such a high altitude.

Die-hard skiers will also love how it’s home to one of Austria’s longest runs clocking in at an impressive ten kilometers long! Plus, there’s an on-site ski school, ski rentals, and a snowpark for all skill levels.
