Europe is the ideal place for your family to experience complete cultural immersion. In Paris, enrich your children’s understanding with a trip to the Lourve or the Eiffel Tower, a must-see for anyone visiting France. On the Iberian Peninsula, budget travelers can traverse Portugal for its multi-colored houses in Lisbon and beaches in Algarve, or spend time in the south of Spain for its warm-weather, vibrant culture, and historical traditions such as Flamenco dancing. For more time soaking up the sun, Croatia and Greece offer beach relaxation for children and adults alike. Those with a sweet tooth can also head to Rome to try delicious gelato and pasta while touring historic sites like the Pantheon and the Colosseum. Families also have the chance to explore Amsterdam’s winding streets via a canal cruise or bike tour, while Germany, Austria, and Switzerland offer adventurous children the opportunity to discover the terrain by hiking. During the colder months, consider skiing in The Alps, or visiting Nuremberg, Munich, and Dresden for their fairytale-Esque Christmas Markets, where kids can enjoy hot chocolate and ice skating. In Scandanavia, visit Copenhagen for its Nyhavn district, lined with quaint shops and kid-friendly restaurants, Stockholm for Grona Lund’s Amusement Park, the biggest in the entire country, and Oslo for its various museums covering Viking culture. Head a little farther west, and you’ll finally reach Iceland, a great way to end your trip with some whale watching on the Golden Circle.
