According to the Italian law, any time you sit in a vehicle fitted with seat belts, it is mandatory that you use them. Children who are under 36 kg (97 pounds) or 150 cm (4 ft, 9 in) must use appropriate child restraints.

Italian law requires drivers that don’t have a European Union driving license to show their home country license as well as an International Driving Permit if (or when) they’re pulled over.

You are not expected to tip at restaurants in Italy. A service charge is sometimes added to the bill, ranging from 1 to 3 Euros, or 10% – 15%. If the service is exceptional, it is okay to give a tip, although this is never expected.
