Beaches® Turks & Caicos may not seem like a typical vacation destination for a UK family to review, but trust us, it’s worth the trip! My family and I (husband, two girls ages 8 & 11) have now traveled to this all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean around five times from the UK. Originally, we only flew out for 1 week from London with our 15-month old daughter, then visited again when she was 23-months old to take advantage of her still being free to take on holiday! From accommodations to kid-friendly activities, this Beaches Turks and Caicos Review By A UK Family will let you know what to expect. Keep reading to learn more!
Flights and Travel from UK
I would not recommend traveling to Turks & Caicos with kids for only 1-week from the UK. The flight is 11 ½ hours via Antigua. Thankfully, there are now two flights each week with British Airways from Gatwick on Thursdays and Sundays. You can now easily do 10 and 11-night holidays instead if you don’t want to do 14-nights. We have, however, done 17-nights on our 4th visit to reach our ‘free week’ after 70 paid nights with Sandals and Beaches.
All four of us still love it, as evidenced by this Beaches Turks and Caicos Review By A UK Family, so much so we just booked again for a week next August after our 10-night fly-drive around Florida’s Gulf Coast and the Keys. It’s ideal to add on to the end of a Florida-based holiday, as there are direct flights from Fort Lauderdale and Miami. We have previously done Disney, Miami, then BTC, which was an amazing holiday!

Beaches® Turks & Caicos is located on the gorgeous Grace Bay Beach, perfect for families who want access to the ocean right outside their doorstep! Five villages make up the resort. The Caribbean and Seaside Villages feature two smaller pools, a garden oasis, and seaside views. The Italian Village is a central hub anchored by the resort’s largest pool and restaurants on either side, steps from the beach. The French Village is entertainment central with the resort’s main stage and waterpark nearby. Key West sits on the opposite side of the Seaside Village, known for its quieter vibe.
We’ve stayed in all 4 villages, preferring the more central Caribbean and Italian Village locations, but none are a long way to walk around. I have booked Key West again for next year, though to mix it up a little, I requested the Western side which is next to the IV. This is an important part of our Beaches Turks and Caicos Review By A UK Family.

Accommodations for Families
There are a variety of accommodation options for families at Beaches® Turks & Caicos. Depending on which village you stay at, the choices will vary slightly, however, there are some consistencies throughout. Families can choose between a range of rooms and suites, some of which have a king bed, two double beds, or a separate living room area with a sofa bed. If you’re traveling with a larger family, Beaches® Turks & Caicos also offers a variety of villa options. Ranging from one-bedroom to four-bedrooms, each comes with its own unique perks, like a private plunge pool or a butler to cater to your needs throughout your trip. Some even have bunk beds for kids like a seaside sleepaway camp!

On-Site Dining for Families
Since Beaches® Turks & Caicos is an all-inclusive resort, on-site dining is included within your package. As such, families have a chance to try a little bit of everything. In fact, we have a rule for the girls on holiday that they need to try a new food every day. From seafood grills to pizza, Caribbean cuisine, sushi, and so much more, we enjoyed almost all of the 21 on-site restaurants. (Unfortunately, we don’t like Indian food, so this was the only one we didn’t visit.)
What’s great about staying at Beaches® Turks & Caicos is that, despite the resort’s sprawling size and a large number of guests, we rarely have to wait longer than 20 minutes to be seated, even if it’s busy. If it’s too busy, there are so many options that we simply choose another restaurant. Even for fussy kids, the possibilities are seemingly endless!
Kid-Friendly Resort Activities and Excursions
Beaches® Turks & Caicos offers kids a variety of resort activities, and my little ones enjoyed every second they spent here! There are gigantic water slides, kid-friendly pools, and swim-up soda bars at The Pirates Island Waterpark. On Grace Bay Beach, water sports such as scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and parasailing are also available, with lessons for beginners. Plus, there’s a kids’ club for all ages, including a special infants club for travelers up to two years old.
Kids between three and five can also enroll in the Beaches Kids Camp while those between six and ten join the Navigators and Adventurers. There’s also an exclusive teen hangout: Trench Town, plus an Xbox Play Lounge for rainy days. We’ve only ever left the resort once for an excursion (we come here to have fun and relax!). My girls were spellbound on the Mermaid Submarine Tour!
Pro Tip: Here’s one of the most important tips on our Beaches Turks and Caicos Review By A UK Family. For the best prices on excursions, it’s worth booking during the UK 2-4-1 sale period (March-April), especially when you have to go during the school holidays.

Amenities for Adults
Beaches® Turks & Caicos offers activities for adults as well. Parents can relax at the famous Red Lane Spa. Or, bring your tween or teen too! The spa also offers exciting options for them. My husband and I use the spa every time we go, as the therapists are so good. Now that we are Emerald Level members, we receive a free couples’ massage each time! There’s also a fitness center and the option to book a babysitting service in the evening.
Ask the concierge to arrange a candlelit dinner along the beach for you and your significant other, visit one of the 15 upscale bars, or attend one of the many beach parties happening constantly. We renewed our wedding vows at the resort for our 10th anniversary in 2014 with Shanrika as our planner and the resort handed the whole process wonderfully!

Yes! Even with such a long flight from the UK to Turks & Caicos, my family still had such a great time on our vacation. Just remember – you’re on laid-back Caribbean time. Hopefully, our Beaches Turks and Caicos Review By A UK Family convinced you to take a trip of your own!
