Though many choose to spend their time in St. Lucia simply relaxing on the beach, the array of options on this itinerary can easily be worked into your schedule. Choose one day, or experience all four when you use this St. Lucia travel guide for families.
If you’re wondering what to do in St. Lucia with kids, we’ve got your first day covered! Start your morning with a tranquil stroll through the Diamond Botanical Gardens, the oldest botanical garden on the island. From there, it’s a short drive to some of the island’s cultural activities, like the Church of the Assumption in Soufriere. Located nearby, you can also take your kids to the Tet Paul Nature Trail, where a 45-minute hike rewards you with sweeping views of the island. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at Soufriere Beach and after, you can fuel up with authentic Caribbean food at Martha’s Table.
Day two of your itinerary for Saint Lucia with kids is full of splashing and making memories togehter. Arrive at Splash Island Water Park bright and early so the whole family has plenty of time to take advantage of the expansive open-water sports park. From there, you can take a walk along Reduit Beach and decide between the various lunch spots in the area, among them Liz Roti, a local favorite. Not only is Reduit Beach one of the best things to do in St. Lucia with kids, but it is also near the Rodney Bay Marina. Here, spend your day shopping at two of the island’s major shopping centers – Baywalk Mall and JQ Rome.
Day three on this St. Lucia travel guide for families is an exciting day! Dedicate an entire day to exploring St. Lucia’s most popular attractions. Begin with a hike up to Gros Piton, the island’s national symbol, and best vantage point. Nearby, kids may also be interested in a visit to Zion Lion Farm to learn more about St. Lucia’s clay-making process and eventually make some pots themselves. Then, be sure to save some time to cleanse the day off at Sulphur Springs, St. Lucia’s very own drive-in volcano and mineral bath site. Conclude with dinner at The Mango Tree – if it’s Thursday, kids can eat chicken whilst being mesmerized by the live acrobatic and fire-blowing performances.
Kids will likely enjoy a visit to Pigeon Island National Park, where you can hike up to Fort Rodney and Signal Peak for a unique view of St. Lucia with kids. Within the park, you’ll also find Pigeon Beach, a stretch of sand and lush greenery that’s usually serviced by a boat serving a variety of sweet treats. Barnacles, an on-site restaurant, is just a short walk away whenever you get really hungry. If you’re traveling with older kids, however, you may enjoy a visit to Cook Like a Lucian, an interactive cooking class where you can learn to make your own Caribbean cuisine.
